Itinerary:

🧺 1. Explore a traditional local market:

Walk through a lively local market, meet friendly vendors and discover fresh vegetables, tropical fruits, herbs, fish and other ingredients used in everyday Mekong Delta cooking.

 🌾 2. Prepare rice batter the traditional way:

Soak and grind rice with fresh turmeric using a traditional stone mill. Learn how local ingredients are transformed into the batter for Southern Vietnamese crispy pancakes.

🥥 3. Make fresh coconut milk:

Grate fresh coconut and extract the milk by hand, just as local families traditionally do. It adds a rich, fragrant flavour to our homemade Bánh Xèo.

🥞 4. Cook your own crispy Bánh Xèo:

Prepare the ingredients and cook your own golden, crispy Vietnamese pancakes filled with shrimp, pork and bean sprouts. Learn how to wrap them with fresh herbs and vegetables and enjoy them with dipping sauce.

🍲 5. Discover a traditional Southern Vietnamese family meal:

Bánh Xèo is only part of the experience!

You’ll also discover the everyday dishes that make a Mekong Delta family meal special, such as:

🐟 Vietnamese caramelised fish (Cá Kho) – fish slowly cooked in a savoury, slightly sweet sauce.

🥬 Homemade vegetable soup (Canh Rau) – a comforting bowl of soup made with fresh seasonal vegetables.

🍳 Stir-fried vegetables – simple, fresh and full of natural flavour.

🍍 Seasonal tropical fruits – enjoy whatever delicious fruits are in season in the Mekong Delta.

Note: I will book a bus ticket for you from Saigon/Can Tho to my house and the way back after finishing the tour. Or wherever you want to go, we will support booking a private car or public bus for you.
